Pesher on Isaiah
The Book of Pesher on Isaiah is a commentary on the biblical Book of Isaiah, found among the Dead Sea Scrolls. It interprets verses from Isaiah not as prophecies about the past, but as predictions of the community's own future events and the end times. Specifically, it applies prophecies to the Qumran sect's struggles, identifies contemporary enemies as the "Kittim" (Gentiles), and describes the coming of a Davidic messiah
