Malachi
The main point of Malachi is a call for the people of Israel to repent and restore their devotion to God, who promises to send a messenger to prepare the way for the coming of the Lord. The book confronts the people for their spiritual apathy, including their half-hearted worship, failure to honor their marriage covenants, and injustice, while also promising God's justice and mercy.
The book concludes with the promise that God will send a messenger (John the Baptist, according to the New Testament) to prepare the way for the "Day of the Lord".
