2 Kingdoms
The book of 2 Samuel recounts the reign of King David, focusing on his consolidation of power, military successes, and his covenant with God. It also details his moral failures, particularly the affair with Bathsheba, and the tragic consequences that followed, including family strife and rebellion led by his son, Absalom. Psalm 50 (LXX) aka Psalm 51 (MT) is linked for a chant that represents King David's repentance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lstg7ueP0Pg
I hope this scroll section offers accountability to a more mature form of spirituality. I choose not to focus on textual analysis or content on abstracts because other websites already do that, and masters of humility or at least theology already spent effort to prepare the scholastic means for 2 Kingdoms. Therefore I try to connect how these scriptures connect the spirit of humanity with the divine revelation for meditation, contemplation, or at least informing a substance that is lacking in western (American) christianity. The Orthodox Christians of the east seem to have an abundance of rituals and daily practices that can symbolically and meaningfully pump purpose into writings that are already familiar to western minds. An Assyrian version is here performed in Aramaic to the glory of God by Archimandrite Seraphim Bit-Kharibi and the monastic choir https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xq3UX8yIBZI
