Exodus

The LXX word Exodos derived from the Greek word meaning "way out" or "departure". This Greek title reflects the book's narrative of the Israelites' liberation from slavery in Egypt.

The DSS call the book Shemot, which means "Names" in Samaritan and Aramaic "depature from Misrayim/Egypt."

The SP call the book "And These are the Names". Other writings thought to be spoken (oral tradition) but perhaps not written are Song of the Sea, Psalm 89 LXX (90 JPS), Song of Deborah, and Song of Moses.

The image below depicts Moses and the nation of Hebrews (Habirus) hearing various NAMES with musical annotation in the sky. While crossing the Red Sea with waters and clouds in the background. "The theme and tone of background is solemn, grave, and bitter with Passover elements of meal like Matzah, Maror & Chazeret, Charoset, Charoset, Zeroah, and Beitzah cooking over a campire. This depiction resembles Greek Eastern Orthodox iconography since Alexandrian Jews played a major part in the Septuagint and early Jewish Christianity.
