Ezra and Nehemiah intentionally reject Samaritans. Non-Christian scholar says, "Jewish communities thrived in the diaspora (in Egypt, Babylon, Asia Minor, and beyond) where they creatively adapted their traditions to new settings, often translating sacred texts into Greek and engaging with surrounding cultures.
