Prophet foresees the Forerunner

The messenger (angel) prophet proposes repentance, predicts the Messiah and His Forerunner, and also the Last Judgment. Between Malachi and John would be a series of Apocalyptic literature and Second Temple Judaism expanding across north Africa, south Europe, and west Asia. Apolytikion: "As we celebrate the memory of Thy Prophet Malachi, O Lord, through him we beseech Thee to save our souls." Today you can still visit burial place of Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi.
