Pre-Monarchy

Prophet Samuel is born, last of the Judges of Israel and first to anoint a monarch. Scrolls are written in Paleo-Hebrew or a type of Samaritan (Phoenician) script. The letters of Aramaic (Persian based) had not yet been invented so the prophets wrote in a different type of alphabet, one more akin to Abraham and Moses.
