Pre-Mosaic Era Ex ch2

Exodus chapter 2 describes the birth of Moses, his placement in a basket on the Nile River to escape Pharaoh's decree to kill Hebrew boys, his discovery and adoption by Pharaoh's daughter, and his growth to adulthood in the Egyptian royal household. It also recounts his killing of an Egyptian taskmaster, his subsequent flight to the land of Midian, and his marriage to Sephorah, a priest's daughter. The Midianites were the descendants of Midian, a son of Abraham and Keturah.
