Israelite Era Gen ch50

Jacob is embalmed and transported with dignity up to his father's double cave (macphelah) and mourned. Joseph reassures his brothers of no retaliation and establishes forgiveness. Joseph's body is placed in a coffin in Egypt, ending the book of Genesis. The household and children and their cattle are left in Goshen. Later after the Exodus, Joshua would return here according to Joshua 10:41
